We Love our Musicians!!

At the Sun Valley Jazz Festival, we love our musicians so much that if they ever decided to form a band called "The Missing Notes," we'd still give them a standing ovation because even their silence is music to our ears!

Leyland, Pikal, & Coots Trio

“Exciting, exhilarating, and exhausting!” is probably the best (and most alliterative) way to describe this mighty trio.Since joining forces, they’ve been on a mission to introduce audiences all over the world to their style of music and fun. With a delightful mix of jazz, blues, stride, boogie, pop, and ragtime, the duo added bassist Steve Pikal, which made their performances even more fun than before – and, yes, it’s possible!

The High Street Party Band

High Street “wows” the crowds across the USA, as well as cruise lines in the Caribbean. From New York to Las Vegas, the Burbank Starlight Bowl to Hawaii, Portland, Mexico, Seattle, Victoria BC and everywhere in between…High Street does it all! Some of what you can request and expect is: Motown, 70’s - 80’s - 90’s Dance Hits, the Top 40, Jazz, R&B, Blues, Funk, and Party Rock ‘n’ Roll to name a few options.

Cocuzzi Trio

Together, John and Kristy bring 70 combined years of youthful enthusiasm and experience to the table! They are both known for successful workshops with students, building knowledge of the jazz idiom and inspiring the next generation. Since they joined forces in 2013, they have been all over the United States and beyond, appearing at festivals, house parties, concerts, and cruises together. They are entertaining to watch, a pleasure to hear, and they put a new spin on many of the old familiar melodies we all love. They recently developed a tribute to the works of Natalie and Nat King Cole that has been a sell-out every performance.

Dave Bennett Five

For starters, you don’t find many jazz clarinet players who name Alice Cooper, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Chris Isaak among their influences. You won’t find many musicians who are equally conversant with the music of Benny Goodman (the “King of Swing”) and Roy Orbison (“The Soul of Rock and Roll”). In fact, you may not find even one other clarinet virtuoso who breaks from his Swing Era repertoire to sing rockabilly hits while accompanying himself at the piano or electric guitar.

Dave will be joined by some very talented musicians to make the “Dave Bennett Five” group including, Paul Odeh, Mike Sailors, Kevin Congleton, and Steve Pikal.
